Shield!

I have an idea for a possible shield gadget that could be added to the game!

     - The shield would be attached to the gadget slot of the chassis and could take one hit before being destroyed.

     - It would allow the player to take no damage from that first hit, but is useless after that.

Sounds interesting, however this is a direct nerf to lasers, and would make them useless. Lasers take super long to fire, but are usually one hit kills, which is why they are effective. So if their first shot is blocked, it is impossible to win because they will die before they get another chance to shoot

Good point. Maybe just have it block a small area, so depending on slot location, it could be useless? 😀

This would actually make those double slotted bodies a bit more useful.

I guess just make it reduce 25% of damage from first attack, and the effect will stay 0.5 seconds (make sure 3 rockets in first launch will got damage reduced).

And it exhausted after 0.5 sec.

 

Laser still deal damage, but it's a good way to make melee player prevent from laser's instant kill.

Because melee attack need to get close to the opponent, cause the hit is delayed, rocket and laser doesn't, they deal damage equal to the DPS (damage per time)

Although booster can make melee damage start early but still delay 0.5 ~ 1 seconds to ranged weapons.
